Reading These Bible Verses Today Terrified Me So Much They Made Me Gasp

I can’t remember actually literally gasping aloud upon making some “aha!” insight from a handful of verses from the Bible. But G.K. Beale’s You Become What You Worship: A Biblical Theology of Idolatry is deeply compelling in the interpretation it presents. I do my best to summarize it here and explain why it so shocked me.
