October 7, the Cornell 7, and Why the Spiked Tip of Your Tactical Pen Is All You Can Really Trust

The state will not protect women from misogynists or Jews from antisemites. We have to take the power into our own hands to inflict violence against our attackers.

Three years ago today, the Islamist terrorist group Hamas led an attack on Southern Israel which resulted in the deaths of more than 1,100 people.

However, Yahya Sinwar — the mastermind behind the the most successful antisemitic massacre since the end of World War II — wanted more than blood, he wanted to traumatize the world.

And that’s why he ordered his fighters to gang rape, mutilate, and torture Israelis. That’s why he told them to film it with their smartphones and stream it live on social media.

We’ll never even know the true number of how many women — and men — Hamas fighters raped. It’s impossible. Too many bodies were burned, too much evidence was destroyed.

Here’s another number we can’t ever know either:

Over the last five years, how many fraternity men have chosen to do the same thing the so-called “Cornell 7” did?

We cannot know because:

A) Many — perhaps most — of the women victimized will not report the crime since they know correctly they are unlikely to receive justice.

B) Many of the women victimized do not even know. If a woman is incapacited with drugs and alcohol, then she may very well wake up and not even know that men chose to rape her while she was unconscious.

This isn’t something as rare as people want to think.

One woman I know told me about learning that a partner raped her regularly while she slept and it took her a long time to learn what he did.

Of course, stories like these bring to mind the disgusting crimes of Dominique Pelicot, the man who drugged his own wife Gisèle Pelicot, invited dozens of men to rape her, and even filmed the assaults.

The one man Gisèle most trusted to keep her safe turned into the one who committed crimes against her of a historical magnitude.

This sickening betrayal of trust brings to mind a story Jewish author Dara Horn told recently on a podcast (and appreciations to Ruth for bringing this to my attention yesterday.)

The writer of People Love Dead Jews: Reports from a Haunted Present — the best book ever written on antisemitism — appeared yesterday on HonestReporting’s podcast with host Ben Chertoff:

“The rabbi who was hosting me at this synagogue picks me up at the airport and says, ‘I just need to tell you what you’re walking into. There was a threat against the Jewish day school in town. The person was arrested last night. We just found out about it this morning. This was a person who was posting online about how he was going to murder the children in the playground during the recess and then he was going to murder the parents in the carpool line during the pickup.’

And I'm like, ‘Wow, that's really horrible.’

And my host is like, ‘that's not the horrible part. Who was this person? He was the school security guard.’”

Women cannot trust their own husbands not to rape them.

Jews cannot trust their own security guards not to murder them and their children.

Israelis could not trust their own government and their morally confused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to protect them from Yahya Sinwar’s rapist army.

Students cannot trust their own universities to do a damn thing ever.

Victims cannot trust the police to meaningfully investigate crimes or for prosecutors to genuinely pursue justice rather than dispense wrist slaps and “sweetheart” deals.

None of us can trust our governments.

None of us can really trust anybody. I don’t anymore.

Not your friends, not your family, not your spouse. We are all alone in this world.

So what can women trust to defend themselves? What can Jews rely on to protect themselves from attackers?

Only what you can carry in your own two hands.

The single best purchase I’ve made all year is this 7-in-1 Ankaka tactial pen.

Realizing the extent that I no longer felt safe walking Jasmine in our neighborhood, I chose to acquire two non-lethal, self-defense tools after watching the two videos from former CIA officer Jason Hanson embedded in this article at top and below.

Nowadays, I always carry both my tactical pen and Koga with me — even inside the apartment.

The tactical pen is the primary and best defense tool of value because:

A) It is 100% legal everywhere. You can take it into a courtroom or onto a plane because it is “just a pen.”

B) The spiked point is strong enough to break glass. Which means it’s strong enough to break some fucking rapist antisemite’s face.

Carrying a tactical pen at all times means you always have the capability to do very serious, non-lethal damage to an attacker. You stick the sharp end into somebody’s throat, eye, or any number of pressure points and it’s going to cause serious pain, which can enable your escape.

This Ankaka tactical pen is my favorite that I’ve found so far, but I do intend to acquire and test more.

This one is particularly nice because the price point of $12 really makes it no big deal when you lose it, as will inevitably happen.

The tactical pens which cost two, three, or four times as much are likely superior in many ways, but will that extra cost make you any safer? Maybe. But this $12 model looks like it will do more than well enough for now.

This particular pen also includes other self-defense capabilities, most importantly a flash light with strobe capability. So that provides an option to potentially blind attackers.

This model also allows you to conceal the spiked point, flipping it around to appear within the body of the pen, with either a stylus or a multi-tool head instead. The stylus is surprisingly good and so is the writing capability of the pen itself.

While the tactical pen gets the job done, to feel a step safer for only $15 more, pick up a Cold Steel Koga SD1, named after its creator Robert “Bob” Koga (1930-2013), who previously worked as the LAPD’s lead self-defense instructor and developed less injurious methods of subduing suspects:

Was this not the somber October 7 reflection you were expecting that everyone else is writing today?

Is this not the advice that women want to hear in response to the “Cornell 7” fraternity boy rapists?

In talking with women about this story, I’ve heard so many want to think that somehow the culture can be meaningfully changed to produce fewer rapists.

They want to believe that “the patriarchy must be dismantled!”

And they seem to think that the primary way it will happen is simply by more men speaking out and condemning misogyny and advocating for harsher laws and pushing for aggressive prosecutions of sexual predators.

Here’s the problem: studies consistently show that roughly 10% of men admit they would rape a woman if they could get away with it, and if the question is rephrased as “force a woman to have sex” instead of using the actual word “rape” then that number rises to a third.

In other words, a third of men are monsters.

Now is that going to be a third everywhere? Well, no. In some places it will be way worse.

The overly optimistic feminists are right that culture does matter, and that there are countries and cultures with less rape, less misogyny, and less hate than others.

It is indeed possible to make some progress advocating for feminism. The nature vs nurture debate certainly applies here too.

However, the amount of progress that can actually be made and the speed with which it's done is not going to actually do anything to protect the women in the world today.

Men just speaking up when their misogynistic friends say something or when there is a prominent sex crime story in the news isn’t going to change the underlying hateful attitudes hardwired for decades and reinforced with daily consumption of Manosphere media products in tandem with extreme, degrading, violent pornography.

Just as the feminists are right that cultural progress can be made to nurture a more equal, less patriarchal country, the inverse is also true and is what has happened over the last 15 years: we have broadly culturally regressed. Reactionary elements have arisen in politics, media, and the broader popular dialogues, pulling us backward rather than forward.

And just as we see it in more misogynistic men, we also see it in more antisemitic men.

It’s worth keeping in mind here that antisemitism is a gendered phenomenon, with men generally twice as likely as women to hate Jews.

Most antisemitic violence will be committed by men, since men are simply more violent than women. Most violent crime (80-85%) is committed by men. Most murderers (90%) are men.

Jews need to understand, and many already do: the cross-over between men who would attack a woman and men who would attack a Jew is going to be major. The same men who want to blame Jews for their problems usually also want to blame women. (So many antisemitic conspiracy regularly seek to blame Jews for feminism existing at all!)

And just as we cannot persuade the misogynists to stop hating women, we cannot persuade the antisemites to stop hating Jews.

And now the number of hateful, patriarchal men who would inflict violence on those smaller and weaker than them has only increased.

Pick your selection of reasons to explain why, as you’ve got a whole bunch to choose. October 7, Donald John Trump, smartphone addiction, social media algorithms radicalizing people, the decline in literacy through poor education… take your pick. We can debate which blend of explanations is most accurate. There are many structural reasons why so many men have grown more radical and hateful.

But the bottom line for us all is that we need to be clear-eyed about how much we can really do to change culture somehow to reduce misogyny, racism, antisemitism and outright male malice. About a third of men are too stupid, cruel, emotionally-stunted, and self-obsessed to be reasoned with at all.

How do you reason with the patriarchal male and the antisemite who wants to harm you?

By jabbing your tactical pen into their eye and smashing their skull with your Koga.

The names of over 800 civilians who were murdered in their homes, towns and communities confronting Hamas terrorists during the brutal attack on October 7, 2023, as well as subsequent attacks after October 7, have been released by Israeli authorities. This list will be updated with additional information as it is released.

(This list does not include IDF personnel, Israel Police officers, Israel Security Agency officers and first responders who were killed in the attack and civilians killed by Iranian missile strikes during Operation Rising Lion).

• Arie (Zalman) Zalmanovich, 85, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was abducted alive from his home during the terrorist attack of 7 October 2023. According to IDF assessments, he was murdered approximately six weeks after being taken captive by Hamas. His body was held in Hamas captivity until he was returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on 21 October 2025.

• Ronen Engel, 55, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was murdered during the terrorist attack on the kibbutz on October 7, 2023, and his body abducted to the Gaza Strip. His body was held in Hamas captivity until he was returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on October 18, 2025.

• Eliyahu Margalit, 75, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was abducted from his home on October 7, 2023 and subsequently killed in Hamas captivity. His body was held in Hamas captivity until he was subsequently returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on 17 October, 2025.

• Yossi Sharabi, 53, of Kibbutz Be’eri was abducted from his home on October 7, 2023 and subsequently killed in Hamas captivity. His body was returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on 13 October, 2025.

• Ohad Yahalomi, 50, was one of four deceased hostages returned to Israel on Thursday, 27 February 2025, after being held in Hamas captivity for 510 days. Ohad was abducted wounded from his kibbutz, Nir Oz, on October 7, 2023, and subsequently murdered in captivity. Following the completion of the identification process by the IDF, the Health Ministry National Center of Forensic Medicine and the Israel Police, IDF representatives informed the family of his return for burial in Israel. He is survived by his wife and three children.

• Tsahi Idan, 50, was one of four deceased hostages returned to Israel on Thursday, 27 February 2025, after being held in Hamas captivity for 510 days. Tsahi was abducted from his kibbutz, Nir Oz, on October 7, 2023, and subsequently murdered in captivity. Following the completion of the identification process by the IDF, the Health Ministry National Center of Forensic Medicine and the Israel Police, IDF representatives informed the family of his return for burial in Israel.

• Itzik Elgarat, 68, was one of four deceased hostages returned to Israel on Thursday, 27 February 2025, after being held in Hamas captivity for 510 days. Wounded in the battle, Itzik was abducted from his kibbutz, Nir Oz, on October 7, 2023, and subsequently murdered in captivity. Following the completion of the identification process by the IDF, the Health Ministry National Center of Forensic Medicine and the Israel Police, IDF representatives informed the family of his return for burial in Israel.

• Oded Lifshitz, 84, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was wounded during the attack by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, and then abducted from his home together with his wife Yocheved Lifshitz (85). Yocheved was returned on October 23, 2023, together with another captive, Nurit Cooper. Oded was killed by the terrorists while in captivity. His body was returned to Israel on February 20, 2025, and after his remains were identified at the National Center of Forensic Medicine, official notification was given to his family.

• The body of Shiri Bibas, 32, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, who was abducted from her home by Hamas terrorists together with her husband (Yarden, 34) and her two children (Ariel, 4 years old, and Kfir, aged 9 months) during the October 7, 2023, attack, was returned to Israel early Saturday morning (February 22, 2025), after Hamas had initially transferred the remains of an anonymous woman’s body on February 20. Shiri’s remains were taken to the National Center of Forensic Medicine where her identity was confirmed and notification given to the family. It was further confirmed she had been murdered in captivity and not killed in an Israeli attack, as claimed by the terrorists. The bodies of her two children, Ariel and Kfir, both brutally murdered in captivity, were returned on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Yarden Bibas was returned alive on February 1, 2025.

• Ariel Bibas, 4, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was abducted from his home on October 7, 2023, together with his parents Yarden (34) and Shiri (32), and his brother Kfir (9 months). His body was returned home on Thursday, February 20, 2025. After the National Center of Forensic Medicine confirmed his identity, notification was given to the family.

• Kfir Bibas, 9 months, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was abducted from his home on October 7, 2023, together with his parents Yarden (34) and Shiri (32), and his brother Ariel (4). His body was returned home on Thursday, February 20, 2025. His body was taken to the National Center of Forensic Medicine for identification, and once this was confirmed, notification was given to the family.

• Shlomo Mantzur, 86, of Kibbutz Kissufim, was murdered by Hamas terrorists in the October 7 attack on the kibbutz and his body abducted to the Gaza Strip. Previously thought to have been abducted alive, on 11 February 2025 the IDF released information based on new findings according to which he was killed in the initial attack and his body abducted to the Gaza Strip. The findings, gathered over several months, have been communicated to his family and the kibbutz. These findings have received approval from the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Services and the Israel Police. His body remains in the Gaza Strip at this time. his body, one of four bodies of hostages, was returned to Israel Thursday, 27 February 2025, after being held in Hamas captivity for 510 days.

• Hamza Ziyadne, 23, of Rahat, was abducted from Kibbutz Holit by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, together with his father and two of his siblings. The four members of the Ziyadne family were working in the kibbutz. IDF and security forces located his body and that of his father, Youssef, in a tunnel in Rafah where they had apparently been held by the terrorists. The bodies were returned on 8 January 2025; Hamza was positively identified at the National Center of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv, and his family was notified of his death today (Friday, 10th January 2025). The two other members of the Ziyadne family who were abducted by the terrorists - Bilal Ziyadne, 18, and Aisha Ziyadne, 17 - were released on November 30, 2023, after more than 50 days in Hamas captivity.

• Youssef Hamis Ziyadne, 53, of Rahat, was abducted by Hamas terrorists together with three of his children on October 7, 2023, from Kibbutz Holit, where they were working. IDF and security forces located his body in a tunnel in Rafah and returned it to Israel today (8 January 2025). Two of the children - Bilal Ziyadne, 18, and Aisha Ziyadne, 17, were released on November 30 after more than 50 days in Hamas captivity; Youssef and Hamza remained as hostages in Gaza. In the same tunnel in which Youssef’s remains were found, the IDF force located findings that raise heavy concerns for the life of his son Hamza Ziyadne, who was abducted alongside him.

• Itay Svirsky, 38, of Tel Aviv, was abducted from Kibbutz Be’eri in the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack while he was visiting his parents. Both his parents were murdered in the attack. On January 16, 2024, his family was notified of his death while in Hamas captivity. His body was retrieved from Gaza on 4 December 2024 by IDF forces and returned to Israel for burial.

• Carmel Gat, 40, of Tel Aviv, an occupational therapist, was visiting with her parents in Kibbutz Be’eri when the terrorist attack began on October 7 and she was captured and abducted by the Hamas terrorists to the Gaza Strip. She was held captive for over 300 days before being brutally murdered just a few days ago. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a combined IDF-ISA force located her body and returned it to Israel.

• Alexander Dancyg, 75, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was abducted from his home on October 7 and killed in Hamas captivity. His family was informed of his death on July 22, 2024; IDF forces located his body in the Gaza Strip on August 20, and he was returned to Israel.

• Yagev Buchshtab, 35, of Kibbutz Nirim, was abducted from his home on October 7 with his wife Rimon, who was released in the prisoner exchange in November. His family was notified of his death in Hamas captivity on July 22, 2024; IDF forces located his body in the Gaza Strip on August 20, and he was returned to Israel.

• Nadav Popplewell, age 51, of Kibbutz Nirim was brutally abducted from his home by Hamas terrorists on October 7 together with his mother, Channah Perry. Both were held hostage in the Gaza Strip until Channah Perry was released on November 24. Following the gathering of new intelligence findings, the IDF confirmed his death in Hamas captivity, as well as the death of three other hostages: Haim Perry, Yoram Metzger and Amiram Cooper. Nadav’s older brother Roy was killed in the onslaught of October 7. His family was notified of his death on June 3. IDF forces located his body in the Gaza Strip on August 20, and he was returned to Israel.

• Yoram Metzger, 80, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was brutally abducted from his home by Hamas terrorists on October 7 together with his wife Tamar, who Hamas released on November 28. Following the gathering of new intelligence findings, the IDF confirmed his death in Hamas captivity, as well as the death of three other hostages: Haim Perry, Amiram Cooper, and Nadav Popplewell. His family was notified of his death on June 3. He is survived by his wife, three children, and seven grandchildren. IDF forces located his body in the Gaza Strip on August 20, and he was returned to Israel.

• Haim Perry, 79, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was brutally abducted from his home by Hamas terrorists on October 7 and held hostage in the Gaza Strip. Following the gathering of new intelligence findings, the IDF confirmed his death in Hamas captivity, as well as the death of three other hostages: Amiram Cooper, Yoram Metzger, and Nadav Popplewell. Peace activist and artist, he volunteered to transport sick children from Gaza to Israel to receive medical treatment. His family was notified of his death on June 3. He is survived by his wife, Osnat, who managed to hide from the terrorists during the attack, five children and 13 grandchildren. IDF forces located his body in the Gaza Strip on August 20, and he was returned to Israel.

• Amiram Cooper, 84, of Kibbutz Nir Oz was abducted brutally from his home on the kibbutz on October 7 together with his wife Nurit Cooper. The IDF recently learned he was killed in Hamas captivity, together with Haim Perry, Yoram Metzger, and Nadav Popplewell. His wife, Nurit, was released on October 23. One of the founders of Kibbutz Nir Oz, he served as the chief economist of the Ma’or region settlements for many years. His family was notified of his death on June 3. His body was held in Hamas captivity until he was returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on Thursday, 30 October 2025.

• Avraham Munder, 79, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was abducted from his home on October 7 together with this wife Ruth, daughter Keren and grandson Ohad who were released in the November outline. He was killed while in Hamas captivity. IDF forces located his body in Gaza on August 20, 2024 and he was returned to Israel.

• Dolev Yehud, 35, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, father of four and volunteer medic, was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7. Presumed a hostage, his remains were found inside Israel and only just identified. Following DNA examination, the IDF has confirmed that a previously unidentified body was that of Dolev. He is survived by his wife and four children, one of whom was born on October 16, while Dolev was still believed to be in Hamas captivity. His family were notified of his death on June 3.

• Michel Nisenbaum, 59, of Sderot, was murdered and his body abducted to Gaza on October 7. Born in Brazil, he moved to Israel and resided in Sderot. On the morning of Hamas’ attack, he headed for the military base near Kibbutz Re’im in an attempt to rescue his granddaughter, who was staying on the base with her father, an IDF officer. His body was located in the Gaza Strip and returned to Israel on Thursday night (23 May 2024). After being forensically identified, Israeli authorities notified the family on Friday. He is survived by his two daughters and grandchildren.

• Sonthaya Oakkharasri, a Thai national who was working at Kibbutz Be’eri, was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7 and his body abducted to Gaza, where it is still being held hostage. His family was notified of his death on May 17, 2024 after a prolonged intelligence investigation. Sonthaya, the father of a seven-year-old daughter, would have celebrated his 31st birthday on May 17. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends its sincere condolences to the family, the government and people of Thailand.

• Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai national who was working at Kibbutz Be’eri, was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7 and his body abducted to Gaza. His family was informed of his death on May 17, 2024 after a prolonged intelligence investigation. His body was held hostage by the Hamas terorists until its return to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on 3 December 2025. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends its sincere condolences to the family, the government and people of Thailand.

• Ron Binyamin, 52, of Rehovot, was killed on October 7 at the Mefalsim Junction on his way to his weekly cycling ride. His body was abducted by Hamas terrorists to Gaza, where it was located on May 17 2024 by IDF forces. He is survived by his wife Ayelet and two adult children Shay and Gil.

• Authorities determined today (Tuesday, 7 May 2024) that Lior Rudaeff, 61, of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, who was previously considered to be in captivity in Gaza, was in fact murdered in the October 7 Hamas massacre and his body abducted to Gaza, where it is currently being held.

• The body of Elyakim Libman, 24, previously thought to be one of the Israeli hostages held in Gaza, was found recently in the grave of another victim of the October 7 attacks, in Israeli territory. Elyakim was working as a security guard at the Nova Musical Festival, where he managed to assist in the evacuation of many of the partygoers. On Friday, 3 May, the authorities informed the family that Elyakim was murdered during the Hamas attack on October 7 and his body had been identified.

• Dror Or, 49, of Kibbutz Be’eri, was murdered during the terrorist attack on the kibbutz on October 7, 2023, and his body abducted to the Gaza Strip. Initially assumed to have been captured alive, the security forces later confirmed that he was murdered during the terrorist attack. His family was notified of his murder on May 3, 2024. Dror’s body was held in Hamas captivity until he was returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on November 25, 2025.

• Wolderaphael (Tiger) Hagos Berhe, 40, an Eritrean asylum seeker, was killed in the Hamas massacre in Sderot on October 7. His unidentified body was held by the authorities until recently when they were able to identify it using a DNA sample. His body was returned to Eritrea where his mother and son live, for burial.

• Elad Katzir, 47, of Kibbutz Nir Oz. Abducted from his kibbutz on October 7, he was held in captivity in Gaza where he was subsequently murdered by the terrorists. His body was retrieved from Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip by IDF Commando forces and returned to Israel on 5th April.

• Yair Yaakov, 59, of Kibbutz Nir Oz. Abducted on October 7, it has been confirmed that he was killed on the day of the massacre and his body was taken to Gaza by the Hamas terrorists. His family was notified of his murder on February 15, 2024. His body and that of Aviv Atzili, also of Kibbutz Nir Oz were recovered in the Gaza Strip in a joint IDF-ISA operation and returned to Israel on Wednesday, 11 June, after 613 days in Hamas captivity. Yair was brutally murdered by gunfire while heroically holding the door of the safe room in his home, trying to protect his family. His children, Yagil and Or, were kidnapped along with his partner, Meirav Tal. The three returned to Israel in November 2023.

• Itay Svirsky, 38, of Tel Aviv. Abducted on October 7 while visiting his family in Kibbutz Be’eri and subsequently murdered in captivity by Hamas. His family was informed of his death on January 16, 2024.

• Tamir Adar, 38, of Kibbutz Nir Oz. Abducted from his home by Hamas terrorists on the day of the attack. On January 1, 2024 his family was informed that he was killed on October 7. He was the grandson of Yaffa Adar, who was abducted and released.

• Ilan Weiss, 56, of Kibbutz Be’eri. Presumed abducted on October 7 while participating in the defense of the kibbutz from attacking Hamas terrorists, his body has now been identified as being killed during the attack. His family was notified of his death on Monday (1 January 2024).

• Judy Weinstein-Haggai, 70, of Kibbutz Nir Oz. Presumed abducted on October 7 together with her husband Haggai, it was learned that she was killed in the Hamas attack and her body abducted to Gaza. Her family was notified of her death and abduction on December 28. Her body and the body of her husband Gad Haggai were recovered in a joint IDF - Israel Security Agency (ISA) operation and returned overnight (4-5 June 2025) to Israel.

• Gad Haggai, 73, of Kibbutz Nir Oz – Abducted from his home by Hamas terrorists together with his wife on October 7, he was subsequently murdered in Hamas captivity. His family was informed of his death on December 22. his body, and the body of his wife Judy Weinstein-Haggai were recovered in a joint IDF - Israel Security Agency (ISA) operation and returned overnight (4-5 June 2025) to Israel.

• Tal Haimi, 41, of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak - Murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7, his body was taken to Gaza by Hamas. His family was informed of his death on December 13.

• Yotam Haim, 28, of Kibbutz Kfar Azza - Abducted from his home on October 7. He managed to escape from Hamas captivity on December 15, but was mistaken for a terrorist by IDF troops, who opened fire and killed him during battle.

• Inbar Haiman, 27, of Haifa, was murdered in the terrorist attack at the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023, and her body abducted to Gaza. Her body was held in Hamas captivity unti she was returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on October 15, 2025.

• Uriel Baruch, 35, of Givon, was abducted from the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023, and subsequently killed in captivity. His body was held in captivity until its return Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on October 14, 2025.

• Guy Ilouz, 26, of Tel Aviv, was abducted from the Nova Music Festival on October 7 2023 and subsequently killed in Hamas captivity. His body was held by terrorists until his return to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on October 13, 2025.

• Idan Shtivi, 28, of Tel Aviv was killed by Hamas terrorist at the Nova Music Festival on October 7; his body was abducted to the Gaza Strip. Previously thought to have been abducted alive, new findings have revealed that he was killed during the initial attack on the festival and his body was taken to Gaza. The IDF notified his family of the findings, which were approved by a Health Ministry committee, on Sunday 6 October 2024. His body remains in Gaza. Idan is survived by his parents, Eli and Dalit, three siblings and his partner, Stav.

• Ori Danino, 25, of Jerusalem, was abducted from the Nova Music Festival on October 7 by Hamas terrorists while helping other attendees escape the massacre. He was held captive for over 300 days before being brutally murdered just a few days ago. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a combined IDF-ISA force located his body and returned it to Israel.

• Alexander Lobanov, 32, of Ashkelon, married and father of two, was working as a bar manager at the Nova Music Festival when the attack occurred. A Russian-Israel, witnesses testified he was seen helping people escape when he was captured. He was held captive for over 300 days before being brutally murdered just a few days ago. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a combined IDF-ISA force located his body and returned it to Israel.

• Almog Sarusi, 27, of Ra’anana, was abducted to the Gaza Strip by Hamas terrorists from the Nova Music Festival on October 7. He was attending the wounds of his girlfriend Shahar, who was wounded in the attack when he was captured. Shahar succumbed to her wounds. He was held captive for over 300 days before being brutally murdered just a few days ago. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a combined IDF-ISA force located his body and returned it to Israel.

• Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, of Jerusalem, an American-Israeli, was abducted to the Gaza Strip from the Nova Music Festival on October 7. Wounded in the attack, his left arm was amputated while he was in captivity. He was held captive for over 300 days before being brutally murdered just a few days ago. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a combined IDF-ISA force located his body and returned it to Israel.

• Eden Yerushalmi, 24, of Tel Aviv, a Pilates instructor, was working as a bartender at the Nova Music Festival on October 7 when the attack began. She was held captive for over 300 days before being brutally murdered just a few days ago. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a combined IDF-ISA force located her body and returned it to Israel.

• Orión Hernández Radoux, 30, a Mexican and French national in Israel as a tourist, was attending the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im when the terrorist attack commenced. He was the partner of Shani Louk, who was also murdered and abducted to Gaza and whose body was retrieved last week. His body was located in the Gaza Strip and returned to Israel on Thursday night (23 May 2024). After being forensically identified, Israeli authorities notified the family on Friday. He is survived by his father, who lives in Chile and his mother, who lives in France, and his daughter.

• Hanan Yablonka, 42, of Tel Aviv, was murdered while attending the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im on October 7 and his body abducted to Gaza. He was attending the festival with three friends who were also murdered in the attack. His body was located in the Gaza Strip and returned to Israel on Thursday night (23 May 2024). After being forensically identified, Israeli authorities notified the family on Friday. He is survived by his parents and two children.

• The body of Elyakim Libman, 24, previously thought to be one of the Israeli hostages held in Gaza, was found recently in the grave of another victim of the October 7 attacks, in Israeli territory. Elyakim was working as a security guard at the Nova Musical Festival, where he managed to assist in the evacuation of many of the partygoers. On Friday, 3 May, the authorities informed the family that Elyakim was murdered during the Hamas’ attack on October 7 and his body had been identified.

• Uriel Baruch, 35, of Giv’on. Abducted from the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im on 7 October, the IDF has learned that he was subsequently murdered in captivity and his body is being held by Hamas. His family was officially notified of his murder on 27 March 2024.

• Elia Toledano, 27, of Tel Aviv – Abducted from the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im on 7 October, he was subsequently murdered in Hamas captivity. His body was located by IDF troops in Gaza on December 14, 2023 and repatriated to Israel.

• Eden Zacharia, 28, of Rishon LeZion - Abducted from the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im on 7 October, she was subsequently murdered in Hamas captivity. Her body was located by IDF troops in Gaza on December 11, 2023.

• Ofir Tzarfati, 27, of Kiriat Ata – Murdered at the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im on October 7 or shortly thereafter, His body was abducted to the Gaza Strip and later returned by Israeli forces to Israel. Authorities notified his family of death on November 30.

• Sonthaya Oakkharasr, a Thai agricultural worker, was murdered during the terrorist attack on the Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7, 2023. His body was abducted to the Gaza Strip, where it was held in captivity until his return to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on October 18, 2025. His is family was notified of his death on May 17, 2024, after a prolonged intelligence investigation. Sonthaya, the father of a seven-year-old daughter, would have celebrated his 31st birthday on May 17, 2024. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends its sincere condolences to the family, the government and people of Thailand.

• The body of abducted Thai national Nattapong Pinta was recovered in Gaza and returned to Israel on Saturday, 7 June 2025. Nattapong Pinta, 35, married and a father, was abducted on October 7, 2023, from Kibbutz Nir Oz, where he had been working for several years. According to information gathered by ISA, it is believed he was murdered during the first months of his captivity.

• Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai national who was working at Kibbutz Be’eri, was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7 and his body abducted to Gaza. His family was informed of his death on May 17, 2024 after a prolonged intelligence investigation. His body was held hostage by the Hamas terorists until its return to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on 3 December 2025. Chinese Nationals:

• Chi Zanhung. 47, a Chinese national - Murdered by Hamas terrorists in Sderot on October 7.

• Zishom Wohn, 36, a Chinese national - Murdered by Hamas terrorists in Sderot on October 7.

• Dali Zoeo, 35 a Chinese national - Murdered by Hamas terrorists in Sderot on October 7.

• Zishon Won, 36, a Chinese national – Murdered by Hamas terrorists in Sderot.

Tanzanian Nationals:

• Joshua Loitu Mollel, 21, a Tanzanian national – abducted by Hamas terrorists from Kibbutz Naha Oz and subsequently murdered in Hamas captivity. His family was notified of his death on December 13.

Eritrean Nationals:

• Wolderaphael (Tiger) Hagos Berhe, 40, an Eritrean asylum seeker, was killed in the Hamas massacre in Sderot on October 7. His unidentified body was held by the authorities until recently when they were able to identify it using a DNA sample. His body was returned to Eritrea where his mother and son live, for burial.

• Goytum Jabrahiwat, an Eritrean national and asylum seeker - Murdered by Hamas terrorists in Sderot on October 7.

German Nationals:

• Caroline Bol, 22, a German national, murdered by Hamas terrorists during the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz.

Sudanese Nationals:

• Adam Barima, a Sudanese national, murdered by Hamas terrorists in Sderot.

Canadian Nationals:

• Alexandre Look, 35, of Montreal, a Canadian national - Murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im.

British Nationals:

• Jake Marlo, 26, a British national - Murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im.

• Nadav Popplewell, age 51, of Kibbutz Nirim, a British/Israeli national, was abducted from his home on October 7. Following the gathering of new intelligence findings, the IDF confirmed his death in Hamas captivity. His family was notified of his death on June 3; His body remains in Gaza.

French/Mexican National

• Orión Hernández Radoux, 30, a Mexican and French national in Israel as a tourist, was attending the Nova Music Festival at Kibbutz Re’im and abducted to Gaza. His body was located in the Gaza Strip and returned to Israel on Thursday night (23 May 2024).

• Ziv Belfer, 52, of Nahariya, was one of two civilians killed in a rocket attack launched from Lebanon today (12 November 2024).

• Shimon Najm, 54, of Nahariya, was one of two civilians killed in a rocket attack launched from Lebanon today (12 November 2024).

• Sivan Sade, 18, of Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk in northern Israel, was killed in a Hezbollah rocket attack from Lebanon today (6 November 2024).

• Eduard Sololov, 57, of Nahariya, father of four, died today (3 November 2024) after being critically wounded in a massive rocket attack from Lebanon on the northern coastal city on October 23.

• Karmi Hasson, 21, of Shfaram, was killed in a rocket attack from Lebanon today (31 October 2024) while harvesting olives in an olive grove in northern Israel, near Haifa. His mother, Mina Hasson, who was working with him in the grove, was killed in the attack as well.

• Prayat Pilatram, a Thai national and agricultural worker from Buriram, was one of five people killed in Metula today (31 October 2024) by a Hezbollah rocket attack from Lebanon.

• Thana Tijantak, 31, a Thai national and agricultural worker from Nakhon Ratchasima, was one of five people killed in Metula today (31 October 2024) by a Hezbollah rocket attack from Lebanon.

• Rabbi Rafael Mordechai Pishoff, 35, of Hadera, father of eight, was mortally wounded in the terror stabbing attack in Hadera on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. He succumbed to his wounds the following day, October 10, 2024.

• Dvir Sharvit, 43, of Kiryat Shmona, was killed in a Hezbollah rocket barrage from Lebanon together with his partner while they were out walking their dogs on 9 October 2024.

• Revital Yehud, 45, of Kiryat Shmona, was killed in a Hezbollah rocket barrage from Lebanon together with her partner while they were out walking their dogs on 9 October 2024

• Sharif Suad, 35, of the Bedouin town of Sallama near Karmiel, was killed on Friday, 26 April, 2024, when an anti-tank missile launched from Lebanon hit the truck he was driving in the Mount Dov area on the Lebanese border.

• Mofid Alzir, 57 of Abu Snan – Killed by an anti-tank missile in northern Israel.
