Introducing Our New Visual Aesthetics
We've decided on a new style for our logos and promotional imagery.
We made the decision this week to begin to develop a new visual style for God of the Desert Books. We have chosen to emphasize our Mojave desert ethos by incorporating Joshua trees into our designs.
"Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. After that comes the sound of his roar; he thunders with his majestic voice. When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back. God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding." - Job 37:2-5
We have also chosen to emphasize storms and lightning in our designs. This is intended to evoke the original God of the Desert, the God of the ancient Israelites, the God of the Bible.
As announced in May, we have created a total of five Substacks for our publishing company, with each one supporting an imprint releasing different genres of books:
You can see the new welcome images below. These are first iterations and you can expect further tweaks on them in the future:
In addition, we have applied this lightning-in-the-desert spirit to our new publishing company logo. As explained in the article below, the primary values of this company have become an acronym: PIIZAPS. This stands for Psychedelic Independent International Zionist Artists’ Publishing Society. Thus the image features the π symbol and a storm.
We have further created these logos to symbolize the spirit of each imprint. We hope you enjoy them and encourage you to please consider subscribing to the new Substacks which interest you. While we are growing and launching these new publications we will often cross-post pieces from them to our established GOTD Substack, however, as more content starts coming in then we will stop doing that.
Thank you everyone for all your love and support as we’ve worked hard to develop, build, and finally launch our publishing company.

Looks great
