My pick for today's Book of the Day is “What the Dog Did: Tales from a Formerly Reluctant Dog Owner,” by Emily Yoffe. This book came out in 2005, and it came to my attention because Yoffe, formerly of Slate, lately of The Atlantic, was for many years my favorite advice columnist - Slate’s Dear Prudence. In that role, Yoffe quickly developed a reputation for deft, witty writing and sound, common-sense advice.
