For some reason when my daughter was a few months old I watched all the Star Wars movies in order as kind of background noise. In order means in the timeline of events of the movies.
1. I agree
2. Pretty much agree.
3. I don't know, but John Williams certainly did a great job with the soundtracks. I think the special effects alone would have made the movies significant.
4. Completely agree
5. They made the movies noticeably worse!
6. 200% agree
7. Disagree, Darth Vader was amazing.
8. Which is why Darth Vader is the best villain in the original movie
9. Agree, but they sucked horribly at shooting anything even in the first two movies.
10. Return of the Jedi is more cheesy than the rest, its not just the dialogue, its all of it.
11. I actually think the Ewoks make the movie better, they are a good edition to the franchise.
12. Yeah its creepy, not sexy. That was the intention I think. It made Leia strangling Jaba even better. People who find that part sexy are either ignoring or not understanding the context...or are like a 14 year old boy.
13. Agreed
14. Agreed
15. Probably correct.
16. Phantom Menace was straight up bad. Attack of the Clones was boring until the very end, and was overall mediocre and forgettable.
17. Agreed
18. Agreed, I believe that is by design. The Jedi in general were unlikeable.
19. Agreed.
20. Maybe? It is pretty memorable.
21. Maybe? Light swords are just cool all around.
22. Not when wielded by a Jedi where they can use their force powers to defect lasers back at the targets.
23. Maybe? Also Star Wars shows that in the Star Wars universe losing a limb isn't the biggest deal in the world as they can fix that pretty easily.
24. Episode I seemed to last forever, so agreed.
25. They get progressively better from bad to mediocre to mediocre+(borderline good) there is far more badness going on beyond the dialogue.
26. Agree? Maybe technically too soon to tell, but its looking that way. Mandalorian is good at least.
27. I think some of the other Jedis are cool, I think. Usually the cool ones are not even Jedis."
28. The New movie trilogy was the opposite of the prequels, Good to Mediocre to Dumpster Fire. So yeah lets not talk about them.
29. The AT-AT while cool is a bad design, can be easily taken down.
30. The plot is generic. It's "Lone Wolf and Cub" in a Star Wars universe. It's been done to death but its still good. Last of Us has a similar plot and is great as well. We all like an awesome father figure/mother figure in our shows and movies it always works.
31. I don't know I think his most interesting feature is his budding force powers.
32. Agreed.
33. Agreed.
34. It still is, to this day. However my wife likes Star Wars more than me.
35. I don't know. You are probably right. They could have done it if they had made most of their output...good. I think its a good idea to try and expand the audience, you just have to do a good job of it. Man or woman no one wants bad movies and shows. I think the main problem is they clearly didn't plot out a trilogy with the movies first, they just winged it and its a mess. At least Lucas knew where he was going with the prequels.
I agree with you a lot as you see.
The Mandalorian is the best thing to come out of Disney getting the franchise. The Kenobi mini-series would have been great if it were not for it being incredibly anti-climactic as you knew that the "fight to the death" at the end wasn't going to involve any deaths.
