Hmm: I could echo Nikki Haley by saying (through gritted teeth), "Finish them!", but, honestly, I don't know the likeliest way to liberate those captive, tortured--and often raped and impregnated--innocents.
My question is how do you destroy Hamas if the process of destroying them effectively drives new recruitment? I think Israel will find there are no alternatives to either acceptance of a hopefully weakened Hamas or long-term Israeli occupation of Gaza.
I honestly don't know what the phrase "Hamas will be destroyed" means, in the context of the current war. Israel's national security adviser says the war on Gaza is likely to last through the end of the year... Why?
Is it the tunnels? The tunnels that there's no video of? That's why this isn't a six-day-war?
To be honest, the IDF seems to be completely incompetent.
I don't know. It would be great if the IDF put out some sort of explanation of who they are killing and why. It would probably increase trust in the organization.
Fair enough, the IDF is more competent than Hamas. But the IDF seems to be much less competent than the IDF of half a century ago.
I still don't know what the phrase "Hamas will be destroyed" is supposed to mean, or why it's supposed to take seven more months.
"I still don't know what the phrase "Hamas will be destroyed" is supposed to mean, or why it's supposed to take seven more months."
Go educate yourself about how many Hamas fighters the IDF has killed so far and how many more they have left to kill.
When there are no more Hamas battalions and no more Hamas leadership then the organization is destroyed. Why is that so hard to understand? A terrorist group can be destroyed. It's not a complicated concept.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying it's impossible to defeat Hamas just by killing its current leadership because then new leaders will be appointed. Both the battalions and the leadership need to be taken out. And most leftists don't get that.

It doesn’t drive “new recruitment.” That is a tired leftist cliche.
I read it on an anti-Zionist Substack. They said it is being discussed in Israel.
The only fact that I would trust from an antisemitic Substack is the fact that they hate the Jewish people.
For a peek at what’s happening on the Israeli street:

How many Hamas fighters has the IDF killed so far? Compare that to how many IDF soldiers Hamas has killed. Then tell me who's incompetent.

"I don't know."
Look it up.

In your own article you say that it's impossible to kill all the Hamas leadership, so that's clearly an unrealistic goal.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying it's impossible to defeat Hamas just by killing its current leadership because then new leaders will be appointed. Both the battalions and the leadership need to be taken out. And most leftists don't get that.
