HI David. I went through the lifestyle list, thinking about how I might implement for myselfā€”so this is not adviceā€”I do not have the gall to tell you what you should do.

On the physical side, the diet items would also be the most difficult for me. I see that itā€™s about our inputsā€”eating better foods, drinking more waterā€”canā€™t object to that. I can see cutting out junk food and cutting down on meat and processed foods. I canā€™t see why eating fish, for example, could not continue. I think the ā€œreduceā€ items are good as they are. For example, if I were to go off coffee completely, that will make me and those around me miserable. (Iā€™m told that every Lent, when Iā€™m considering what to give up.) The daily exercise, getting out into nature (and meditation) blend well together.

On the ā€œspiritualā€ side of things, these are all about avoiding the spiritual pollutants. I couldnā€™t agree more with avoiding and cutting down on screen time/social media. I am going to try the ā€œfor business purposes onlyā€œ approach. No aimless scrolling. I already avoid ā€œdark artā€ and pornographyā€”I tell my kids itā€™s like swimming in sewage. It will leave a smell on you when you get out.

Daily meditation and the journal are beneficial, but need some focus, I think. Prayer and some spiritual reading prior to meditating would help me stay focused. I think the journal is interesting. Iā€™ve never done that, but I should. Perhaps part of it could be a daily examination of conscienceā€”where did I fail, what do I need to do to repair, what can I do to improve?

I look forward to watching your progress on these, and praying for your success.
